How you will make an impact: HMD (Healthcare Market Division) is a ~$2B+ business within the Customer Channels Group, which offers comprehensive laboratory portfolio and 100% focus on clinical lab customers. Seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who will provide finance and business partnership to the division team. This role will report to Division Finance Director and own the financial planning and analytics for the division. In addition, this role will provide valuable decision support, identify and implement improvement opportunities and drive cross function collaboration! What you will do: Lead activities for Annual Operating Plan (AOP) / monthly and quarterly business reviews (MBR/QBRs) / long term strategic plan (STRAP), in a matrixed financial forecast Ownership of the monthly financial close Assist Finance Director with high visibility monthly and quarterly business reviews Own SG&A and revenue/COGS accounting adjustment forecast and variance analysis for the division Indirectly managing colleague's / business partners to identify and solve for gaps in the forecast Partner with different functions in the division to build their budgets and help to guide their spending decisions Monitor and analyze financials, including leading monthly and quarterly reporting (revenue, gross margin, OPEX, KPI's) Lead data analysis for the business, using complex data and problem solving Analyze financial and business performance against key business metrics and identify pertinent financial highlights, enabling understanding of progress against strategic business plans Understand and deploys the best tools / methods to effectively communicate complex data and topics Identify, communicate, and lead risk & opportunities Ad-hoc and project support How you will get here: Education An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is required Experience 5-7+ years of business and Finance experience Prior experience in a large global company and highly matrixed organization Proficient at understanding and proactively communicating the financial implications of business decisions and dynamics Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Proven, advanced Excel skills are required (i.e., financial models and analysis); general ledger systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent), Oracle planning/budgeting tools (Hyperion Financial Management, Workforce Planning, etc), and Power BI or other data visualization tools are a plus Proven business partner with ability to influence indirectly and partner with leadership Intellectual curiosity, versatility, & adaptability Team-oriented with a positive, high-energy approach to solving problems and supporting colleagues Skilled in effectively communicating information to various levels of management and capable of confidently expressing independent viewpoints Proficient verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate within a cross functional team Ability to take initiative with limited direction and drive to desired outcome Thermo Fisher Scientific is an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability or any other legally protected status.
