JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Finance Sr. Manager FP&A, plays a critical role in supporting Operations, and senior leadership by managing annual operating budgets (AOP), quarterly forecasting, monthly financial close processes, expense reporting, and variance analysis across departments including Vineyards, Vintage, Bottling, Facilities, and Warehouse.
Key responsibilities include leading monthly and year-end closure for Operations and delivering insights through Department Expense Reports (DERs), pre-close reporting, forecasting, and budget template development. The analyst will also drive process improvements in financial reporting using Microsoft Excel and Power BI (Business Intelligence), collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency, cost awareness, and value creation. In addition, this position will identify and help lead implementation for both system and process improvements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Analize and be the key resource in understanding monthly expenses, ensuring that management has actionable information to drive business decisions. Demonstrate strong relationship building skills, including with cross-functional partners Demonstrate problem solving skills, comfortable with ambiguity. Analyze, understand and discuss financial data with leaders to “tell the story”; I identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings. Demonstrate mastery of operational chart of accounts and ensure consistency across facilities. Serve as a financial advisor to department heads, providing insights and recommendations. Own the monthly reporting process-compile data, develop expense summaries and variance reporting for senior management, lead monthly meeting reviews, and ensure financials are complete and accurate. Assist with Annual Operating Plan (AOP) design, development, reporting, and consolidation for three budget cycles (Operations, Vineyards, Vintage) and meet with cross-functional leaders to develop budgets for presentation and reviews with senior executives. Manage quarterly forecast process, working with leaders to ensure accurate financial projections and reporting to senior Executives. Maintain and analyze large datasets to support business performance monitoring. Partner with IT to implement and enhance financial metric visualization tools such as Power BI/Tableau. Answer inquiries from leaders and develop monthly general ledger reclassifications based on reviews of transactional data. Interface with the IT department as required for current and future projects related to organizational or departmental initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS
Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience, or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. MBA, CPA, or public accounting experience a plus, but not required. Extensive experience forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis. Proven aptitude for analysis and account reconciliation, critical thinking and problem solving, self-motivated, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine and implement acceptable solutions. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Maintain accountability for deliverables and ensure timely completion of financial analyses and reports. Excellent organizational skills with an ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and be flexible to changing priorities. Adept at translating complex financial data into clear, actionable presentations for diverse audiences. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required. Knowledge of SQL or relational database in addition to JD Edwards application preferred. Prior experience in the Beer, Wine, Spirits, or broader Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is highly desirable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Primary work activities are remote. Limited travel to TWG facilities in Northern California, with overnight stays as needed ~5% Ability to work effectively in a hybrid in-person/remote work environment
COMPENSATION
Hiring Salary Range Posted: $84,400 - $126,600. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience; skills, knowledge, and abilities; education; and other position-related factors.
