Position Summary Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst is accountable for supporting Plant Management through analysis of all operational results for two plants - Mississauga and North York. The individual will ensure high accuracy of all operational and financial reporting related to plant performance and the month-end close process, including insightful and timely analysis, with action-oriented variance reporting, and overall leading-edge financial support.

Key Accountabilities:

Ownership of daily, weekly, and monthly operational report preparation and analysis including, but not limited to yields, labour efficiency, inventory, expenses, partnering with Plant Management to identify and implement opportunities for improvement. Prepare, review, and distribute monthly Operational reporting packages; Owns the accuracy and valuation of inventory by maintaining strong controls and managing the month-end inventory roll-up process; Reconcile and analyze all manufacturing and purchase variances, providing business insight and impact these have on financial performance; Responsible for accurate and timely preparation, ongoing development and proper communication of accurate and consistent monthly financial performance reporting and analysis for month-end processes and value-add projects; Prepare applicable journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations as required; Ownership of month end process and financial reporting for both Mississauga and North York plants, ensuring financials accurately represented; Identify opportunities to improve/expand plant reporting to enable better business decisions; Provide recommendations for streamlining existing processes and system to help generate synergies between locations; Support physical inventory counts, interim and year-end financial audits as required.

Requirements:

Pursuing an accounting designation (CPA); 4-5 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment (food industry is an asset); A diploma/degree in accounting or finance and related account reconciliation experience is required; Proficiency in MS Office applications and Advanced knowledge with Excel (must be strong with Pivot Tables and file linking); Knowledge of financial/operational ERP System (experience with AS400 considered an asset).

Hiring Range: CAD $64,393 - $92,082 Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus up to 8% of base salary subject to the plan terms and conditions. Please note that the expected hiring range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sofina.  The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, skillset of the candidate and internal equity.
