About The Position
Klaviyo is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst of R&D who will be a critical resource in driving and efficiently scaling Klaviyo’s innovation engine. This position will be part of a Finance team that supports all functions across Engineering, Product, Design, and GTS. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis, reporting, and recommendations that contribute to the overall success of Klaviyo’s R&D organization.

This candidate is able to effectively translate financial guardrails and insights into actionable decisions for stakeholders. This candidate will be responsible for both owning core FP&A work streams as well as supporting ad-hoc strategic projects.
How You Will Make a Difference
- In partnership with the FP&A Manager and broader FP&A team, manage annual and quarterly R&D OpEx forecasting, reporting, analytics, and the monthly close and forecasting process.
- Advise Engineering, Product, and GTS leaders on financial implications of strategic decisions, including long-term planning, investment tradeoffs, and resource allocation.
- Build and maintain flexible financial models for R&D headcount planning, capitalized software tracking, scenario planning, and ad-hoc analyses.
- Translate product strategy and roadmap decisions into clear financial implications and actionable insights for business partners.
- Proactively identify risks, opportunities, and cost drivers through data-driven insights across R&D investments.
- Build financial models and business cases for major product initiatives, platform investments, and build vs. buy decisions.
- Analyze cloud spend efficiency and identify infrastructure cost optimization opportunities.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Accounting, People Ops, Talent Acquisition, and Finance stakeholders to support planning, forecasting, and business efficiency.
- Support the implementation and transition of forecasting tools and processes in partnership with Finance stakeholders.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A or Finance at software companies with a subscription or SaaS business model.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Excellent storyteller with deep strategic thinking, analytical, and financial modeling skills.
- Attention to detail with passion for achieving a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate financial concepts for non-financial audiences.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
- Passionate about innovation and scaling technology organizations.
- Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, and/or Google Suite.
- Experience working with financial tools (e.g., Pigment, Adaptive, Planful, NetSuite, ERP/BI integrations).
- You’ve already experimented with AI in work or personal projects, and you’re excited to dive in and learn fast. You’re hungry to responsibly explore new AI tools and workflows, finding ways to make your work smarter and more efficient.
