First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Financial Reporting, Planning & Analysis department
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM (hours may vary)
Compensation:
The pay range for the role is $72,000 - $95,000/yr; commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Analyst role at First Hawaiian Bank supports financial planning, management reporting, and governance. They collaborate with various teams to ensure accurate and timely financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and SEC reporting.
- Preparation of the Annual Budget: Assist in budget preparation, perform variance analysis, and recommend financial improvements
- Management Reporting & Financial Analysis: Prepare monthly reports, forecasts, and provide timely updates on financial performance
- Financial Close Coordination: Act as a liaison and provide support during the closing process, including GL account reviews
- Compliance & Internal Controls: Serve as the compliance coordinator, support internal control design and maintenance, and assist with audits
- SEC Reporting Support: Prepare and review SEC reports, perform reconciliations, and ensure accurate and complete information
- Ad-hoc Analyses: Conduct analyses in response to management requests, providing actionable recommendations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Financial Reporting, and business units
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting processes, maintaining high standards of control and governance
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or 3+ years of experience in financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Experience in banking or financial services is preferred.
- Proficiency with budget application systems, IBM Cognos Planning Analytics is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and databases is beneficial.
- Familiarity with financial institutions and SEC reporting requirements.
- 3+ years of experience in finance and/or accounting.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and a results-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, especially Excel, with the ability to create complex worksheets.
