A Day in the Life
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Global Operations Finance supporting the Capital Center of Excellence (COE). The primary focus of this role is to support investments activities for some sites, including business partnering, modelling, planning, reporting, and providing transactional support. This role will partner with other members of the Capital COE to drive efficiencies and standardization across the Medtronic Regional Platforms.
Key activities include:
- Financial support of capital at multiple manufacturing sites
- Business partnering with MFG site Operations to understand capital needs at the site, supporting the financial modelling and forecasting of capital projects
- Monthly/quarterly forecasting, reporting, and transactional support for manufacturing related capital
- Support the rollout of standardized processes and identify efficiencies across the Capital COE

A Day in The Life Of:
- Analyze and communicate period-end (monthly/quarterly) capital results through facilitation and coordination of capital reporting packages
- Perform month- end journal entries related to site capital
- Assist with annual planning and quarterly forecasting processes for Manufacturing site capital
- Work with site operations to forecast capital spend and collaborate to find ways to improve forecast accuracy
- Become a subject matter expert for manufacturing site capital, including business case support and rationalization, capital project tracking, construction in progress (CIP) tracking, and placing assets into service
- Identify and support continuous process improvement initiatives to standardize processes and drive efficiencies across the Capital COE
- Be part of a dynamic team to implement change, improve visibility, and drive impactful results across the GO&SC Strategy organization
Key Skills & Experience
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar)
- Bachelor’s level 8 degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in finance or accounting
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Operations and/or accounting for Operations
- Experience with SAP
- Solid accounting (GAAP), financial and business management foundation
- Experience in navigating and working within a matrix organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
