What You’ll Do
Financial Analysis
- Support all FP&A activities related to Horizon’s managed affiliate companies, including reporting, business analysis, budgeting/planning and relevant KPI monitoring. Current Horizon affiliates include Horizon Media Canada, Blue Hour Studios, One Horizon, Horizon Commerce, Horizon Big, and Horizon Business.
- Assist with the monthly close process for all Horizon managed affiliates, including investigating and understanding each company’s variances and related risks and opportunities to the current forecast.
- Collaborate closely with affiliate business management teams and Horizon finance teams to analyze monthly revenue/expense variances and ensure accruals and adjustments are properly recorded in the accounting records.
- Assist with monthly consolidation of affiliates into Horizon consolidated financial statements.
Forecasting & Business Planning
- Support the monthly refresh of all affiliate company forecasts through close collaboration with affiliate business leads and Horizon finance teams.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process for all Horizon managed affiliates, including evaluation of revenue, headcount needs, SG&A expenses, and overhead allocations.
- Assist in preparation of board of director materials.
- Assist in preparation and analysis of client utilization and profitability reporting.
Ad-hoc Requests/Other
- Respond to ad-hoc reporting, analysis and special assignment, as needed.
- Identify areas of improvement within existing financial and reporting processes and make recommendations for enhancements to current practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tools to improve financial processes

Preferred Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance / accounting / economics preferred
- 4+ relevant years of experience in FP&A / corporate finance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; high proficiency in Excel and advanced modelling skills
- Knowledge of accounting fundamentals and US GAAP
- Understanding of Financial Statements
- Experience with NetSuite or similar G/L systems is a plus
- Interest in the media industry is a strong plus, though prior experience is not a necessity

Salary Range
$85,000.00 - $100,000.00A successful applicant’s actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual’s skill sets, experience, training, education, licensure/certifications, and qualifications for the role.
