Senior Financial Accountant

We’re supporting a fast-growing, globally connected organization in hiring a Senior Financial Accountant to play a key role in financial reporting, controls, and process improvement. This is a highly visible position that works closely with leadership and partners across operations, supply chain, and international teams.

About the Role

In this position, you’ll take ownership of the month-end close and financial reporting process while partnering closely with the Financial Controller to strengthen controls, enhance reporting quality, and support business expansion. You’ll also gain exposure to multiple business functions and contribute to ongoing finance transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

• Lead the full month-end close process from start to finish
• Act as the main finance point of contact during close cycles
• Prepare journal entries and complete balance sheet reconciliations
• Deliver consolidated reporting packages and analyze financial variances
• Maintain accuracy and integrity across key balance sheet accounts

Revenue, Invoicing & Accounts Receivable

• Oversee invoicing and accounts receivable activities end-to-end
• Monitor collections and ensure accurate ageing reports
• Apply revenue recognition standards (US GAAP / IFRS) across various revenue streams

Inventory & Cost Accounting

• Support and gradually take ownership of inventory valuation and standard costing
• Analyze cost of goods sold and investigate operational variances
• Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure inventory accuracy

Controls, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure compliance with US GAAP / IFRS and internal control frameworks
• Review work completed by junior team members or shared services
• Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to streamline processes and shorten close timelines
• Provide financial insights and project support to the Financial Controller

Required Skills and Experience

• Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent such as ACA, CA, CGA, CMA)
• Progressive experience in accounting, including time spent in a senior-level role
• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS, particularly in revenue recognition and inventory accounting
• Proven experience managing full-cycle month-end close and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Business Central)
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with international stakeholders

• Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, cannabis, or life sciences industries
• Exposure to cost accounting in a production environment
• Experience working in multi-entity or shared services structures
• Track record of improving financial processes or implementing new systems
