- Cost Analysis: Analyze and report on manufacturing costs, including material, labor, and overhead, to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
- Cost Tracking: Maintain and update cost accounting systems, ensuring accurate tracking of production costs and variances.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation methods, reserves, and processes, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of inventory costs; responsible for account reconciliation of physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed cost reports and financial statements, presenting findings to management to support strategic decision-making.
- Analytical Skills: Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cost control measures and process enhancements.
- Compliance: Understanding of U.S. GAAP as it applies to a manufacturing environment; ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, participating in audits as required.
- Special Projects: Work on special projects as assigned.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, practices, and standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with WorkWise or SAP is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, financial modeling and data analysis
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
