SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Compensation Analyst is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the company’s compensation programs, policies, and procedures, ensuring they are executed efficiently and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
This role administers and enhances FirstKey Homes’ compensation programs ensuring alignment with the company’s competitive compensation philosophy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Responsible for day-to-day recommendations, administration and maintenance of compensation related programs and systems. This includes conducting comprehensive compensation analyses, benchmarking against industry standards, and providing recommendations to optimize the company’s compensation practices.
- In collaboration with finance and company leaders ensures accurate and timely administration of compensation processes, including annual pay adjustments, bonuses, commissions and other compensation-related procedures. Takes lead on PayScale annual set-up and administration.
- Conduct thorough compensation analyses to evaluate internal equity and external competitiveness by completing market pay analysis including responding to and interpreting salary surveys, completing individual benchmarking, ensuring pay transparency and presenting compensation information to senior leadership.
- Support leaders on compensation strategy, design, and effectiveness; recommend and provide compensation education and training, interpret and apply industry best practices, and update administrative procedures.
- Participate in the design, implementation, and administration of base and variable pay (bonus, commission, etc.) programs, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient, competitive and equitable compensation across the company.
- Analyze compensation data and produce reports to identify issues related to compensation programs and recommend effective, timely solutions. Partners with other departments to ensure regulatory and legal compliance of compensation practices.
- Assists in initiating and building standardized tools and methodologies aimed at improving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and conduct pay analyses, interpret results, and make recommendations that support new or redesign of existing compensation programs aligned with FirstKey Homes’ reward strategy.
- Assists leaders with development of job descriptions, role clarification and development of defensible essential and preferred qualifications. Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine FLSA classification (exempt or nonexempt) and appropriate salary range.
- Provide compensation recommendations in consultation with HRBP’s and/or Talent Acquisition for promotions, adjustments, retention and new hires.
- Conduct regular audits of compensation data to ensure jobs are accurately aligned in the salary structure, appropriately leveled, reflective of job duties and have the correct FLSA classification. Coordinates and conducts research and analysis of compensation practices, programs, and trends; summarizes data and recommends solutions.
- Generate accurate and timely reports.
- Stay abreast of new and emerging compensation trends, creative solutions, and legislative changes.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Primarily working indoors, office environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in finance, human resources, business administration, or related field or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of professional analytical, project management, or generalist experience, with at least three years of compensation analyst experience
- Strong project management skills, ability to meet strict guidelines and navigate a fast-paced environment that requires consistent follow-up with stakeholders
- Knowledge and experience with state and federal labor laws as it relates to compensation (FLSA, pay equity requirements, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook),
- Proven ability to interface with business leaders across an organization to achieve business goals
- Proven ability to be flexible, juggling multiple tasks, shifting priorities simultaneously
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Proficiency in compensation analysis tools and techniques, including market pricing and benchmarking.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, make data-driven recommendations and manage large, complex data sets.
- Proven organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work well in a fast-paced environment with competing demands and ambiguity.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to compensation.
- Ability to develop and deliver communications and compensation training for purpose of upskilling managers.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification a plus
- Experience working with team members from disperse geographic locations, virtually and in-person
- Experience working with UKG or similar Human Resource Information System (HRIS) a plus
- Experience working in a fast pace, high-growth company as a self-starter
