The Senior Commissions Accountant is responsible for managing monthly producer compensation cycles, including the calculation and reconciliation of the compensation, payment related activities, recording and reconciling monthly broker expense and licensing fee journal entries and general ledger accounts and reporting, to ensure timely and accurate payments. The role will ensure that the company producer compensation payments are accurate and in compliance with state and federal regulations and internal policies and procedures. The role will also provide backup support, perform quality assurance verification and participate in developing and testing system maintenance and enhancements.

- 4+ w/Bachelor’s degree
Additional Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting required. Insurance and/or healthcare experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Advanced analytical, problem solving and reasoning skills with the ability to formulate and communicate recommendations for improvement.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications such as: Excel (Intermediate to Advance), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams.
- Ability to prioritize work, follow-up on commitments on a timely basis, work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while having strong teaming skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally, clearly and effectively with producers, management, staff and other business partners.
- Knowledge of policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of producer licensing, credentialing, appointments and compensation.
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger processes and procedures.
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 19. $63,700 - $133,500
