We are excited to announce that we are seeking candidates for a Senior Associate Accountant position. From day one, you’ll join a collaborative, service-oriented team dedicated to supporting customer-owners while advancing Farm Credit of the Virginias’ mission to serve agriculture and rural communities.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the accounts payable function while supporting broader finance operations. You’ll help ensure accurate financial processing, maintain strong controls, and contribute to the organization’s overall financial integrity.
Salary Range: $46,900–$67,500 plus incentive opportunities

Responsibilities/Duties:
• Processes and reviews vendor invoices, ensuring accurate documentation, general ledger coding, and timely payment in compliance with internal policies.
• Maintains vendor records, including W-9 and taxpayer identification information for IRS reporting.
• Processes employee and director expense reports, verifying receipts and ensuring accurate reimbursement.
• Tracks expenses related to employees, directors, and audit requests.
• Supports cash management activities, including daily check deposits and assisting with wire and credit verifications.
• Provides cross-functional support and performs additional accounting duties as needed.
• Safeguards sensitive information and adheres to all security, risk management, and compliance policies.

Required Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
• Two plus years of experience in a finance or accounting-related role.
• Demonstrated proficiency with financial systems, databases, and spreadsheet applications.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
• Effective communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving, time management, and independent work capabilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
