Senior Accounting Officer Regina Campus Term Position
The Senior Accounting Officer will work closely with the Comptroller and Director of Finance on the monthly reporting obligations of the institution. The Senior Accounting Officer will be responsible for daily cash management, complex journal entries, account analysis and reconciliations. The Senior Accounting Officer will work in coordination with the Comptroller and Director of Finance to ensure that systems, policies, and procedures are working in an efficient and effective manner.

Duties and Responsibilities: For the Indigenous Centre for Continuing Education, Daycare, Community Based Programs and Internal Projects:
Prepares complex or specialized accounting schedules, statements or financial reports and forecasts for Management/Department Head or outside funding agencies. Identifying informational needs of management and funding agencies, in coordination with the Comptroller and/or Director of Finance to make recommendations where necessary to revise account structures or data accordingly. Prepares complex journal entries, maintains ledgers, prepares detailed accounting information, and reconciles and analyses reports and ledgers. Review reports for errors inconsistencies; investigates and corrects problems. Responsible for ensuring proper account coding Analyses resolves and answers complex or difficult problems presented by accounting staff and University staff Develop and maintains systems to ensure compliance with specified funding agreements and contracts.
Treasury and Banking:
Daily cash management review and analysis Administrative matters related to treasury management Bank reconciliations
General Operations:
Variance Report preparation and ad hoc support to Comptroller and Director of Finance. Review reports for errors inconsistencies; investigates and corrects problems. Oversee the administration of service contracts Assists in preparation of financial and operating reports
Education and Experience:
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Commerce or related Business field and/or Business Administration Diploma. Three years of experience in a similar role CPA designation or working towards writing the CFE exam considered an asset Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP software
Technical Skills
Sound understanding of ASNPO standards. Proficiency in multi-tasking and attention to detail Excellent time management Dedication to accuracy Strong communication skills to explain ideas and concepts to diverse group of colleagues and other stakeholders
Salary: APT Pay Grade 6: $71,999 - $96,986
