About the Opportunity:

The Department of Community Corrections is currently searching for a Senior Accounting Assistant.  

The Senior Accounting Assistant serves as a key member of the Administrative Division. This position supports the financial backbone of the division by managing detailed accounting tasks, payroll, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the smooth flow of fiscal operations. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and contributing to a division that plays a critical role in supporting community safety and departmental operations. The ideal candidate will bring accuracy, initiative, and a collaborative mindset to a team committed to high-quality service and public impact. 

Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): 

We are seeking a candidate who blends strong technical expertise with excellent communication and collaboration skills. The most important attributes for this role include: 


• Experience maintaining detailed financial records, ledgers, and accounts with a high level of accuracy. 
• Skill in preparing, reviewing, and reconciling journal entries. 
• Ability to interpret and apply accounting procedures, regulations, and internal controls. 
• Strong organizational and time management skills, especially in a fast paced operational environment. 
• Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with staff, partner agencies, and vendors. 
• Commitment to providing responsive, helpful customer service. 
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a cohesive, supportive team. 
• Willingness to share knowledge and provide guidance to other staff when needed.
