The Role

The Senior Accountant is a senior individual contributor responsible for complex accounting areas, analytical review, reconciliations, and issue resolution across a multi‑channel business. This role shares ownership of financial accuracy supports month‑end execution and review, and acts as a trusted accounting partner to the organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys:

Key Responsibilities

Month End Close & Financial Integrity

Act as a key contributor to month end and quarter‑end close, owning complex accounting areas and analytical review to ensure timely and accurate financial results. Prepare, review, and validate journal entries, accruals, and adjustments related to revenue recognition, commissions, incentives, AR aging, and balance sheet accounts. Review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items Prepare reconciliations between Bank & POS Partner closely with the Controller to maintain strong close discipline, documentation standards, and accelerated timelines. Record and reconcile sales, cost of goods sold, and prepaid transactions across multiple sales channels and platforms. Account for recurring revenue streams, trailing commissions, bonuses, and OTE programs, including revenue and expense impacts. Prepare accounting entries and supporting documentation for additional rent, carrier purchases, and related invoicing. Produce periodic operational and financial reports required by external stakeholders and regulatory authorities.

Revenue, Commission & SPIFF Accounting

Support accounting and reconciliation of carrier commissions, residuals, and SPIFF programs, ensuring alignment between external statements, internal systems, and the general ledger. Review commission‑related accruals and actuals for accuracy, completeness, and proper cutoff. Assist with investigation and resolution of commission discrepancies, disputes, and reconciling items.

Financial Analysis & Reporting Support

Prepare variance analysis and explanations for month‑over‑month and quarter‑over‑quarter results. Support management reporting and financial statement schedules. Provide accounting and analytical support to FP&A and business leaders on ad hoc inquiries.

Audit, Controls & Compliance

Prepare and review audit schedules and support internal and external audit requests. Assist in strengthening internal controls, documentation, and accounting policies. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.

Process Improvement & Cross Functional Support

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reconciliations, documentation, and reporting. Support system enhancements and new initiatives impacting accounting and financial reporting. Act as a technical resource and escalation point for complex accounting matters.

Ad Hoc & Special Projects

Support ad‑hoc accounting projects, deep‑dive investigations, and one‑off analyses as business needs arise. Provide flexible support during peak periods, system changes, and operational transitions. Assist leadership with financial problem‑solving requiring accuracy and speed.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation (or actively pursuing) strongly preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in retail, telecommunications, or commission‑based, multi‑location environments. Strong understanding of revenue recognition, accrual accounting, reconciliations, and variance analysis. Advanced Excel skills; ERP/accounting system experience required. Power BI experience strongly preferred. Proven ability to manage complexity, ambiguity, and competing priorities.
