The Role in 30 Seconds
Our client, a growing, multi-entity professional services organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role in the monthly close and financial reporting process. This is more than a month-end accounting role - you'll help refine processes, improve reporting, and contribute to a finance function that's continually looking for smarter, more efficient ways of working. If you like ownership, hate loose ends, and don't just follow processes but look for ways to strengthen them, this is built for you.
You'll probably enjoy this role if...
✔ You want real ownership over your piece of the close, not just a checklist of entries.
✔ You like the idea of working across revenue, intercompany, and multi-entity accounting rather than staying siloed in one area.
✔ You're energized by systems and process improvement, not just maintaining the status quo.
✔ You want exposure to international entities and consolidations.
✔ You like a fast-paced environment where priorities shift, and you're trusted to figure it out.
What You'll Do
- Own key aspects of the monthly close, preparing and posting journal entries across multiple accounting areas, including accruals, payroll, revenue, prepaids, and other key balance sheet accounts.
- Manage the monthly revenue recognition process, reviewing customer contracts and project activity to determine when revenue should be recognized and ensuring compliance with ASC 606 (and IFRS 15, where applicable).
- Maintain revenue schedules, contract-level data, and reconciliations between billing and accounting systems to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations with clear supporting documentation, investigate variances, and resolve reconciling items promptly.
- Maintain supporting schedules for payroll, prepaids, leases, capitalized development costs, pass-through expenses, debt, insurance, and other recurring balance sheet accounts.
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions, support multi-entity consolidations, foreign currency adjustments, and international reporting requirements, including transfer pricing entries.
- Review A/P and expense coding, support cash application and forecasting, and help ensure the accuracy of day-to-day accounting transactions.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Document, standardize, and continuously improve accounting processes, identifying opportunities to automate manual tasks and strengthen internal controls.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation (or active progress toward certification) is highly valued.
- 4+ years of accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, including practical experience applying ASC 606 revenue recognition principles.
- Experience working in a professional services, consulting, or multi-entity organization.
- Familiarity with cloud-based ERP systems and confidence working within modern accounting platforms.
- Able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- A finance team that treats process improvement as part of the job, not a side project.
- Real visibility into multi-entity and international accounting, not just single-entity bookkeeping.
- A manager and team invested in your development, not just your output.
- A culture built on accountability, collaboration, and getting the details right.
