Senior Accountant

You could join our clients rapidly growing SaaS software company which operates on a global scale. 
We're looking for a Senior Accountant who will be a key part of the Global Controllership group. This position will lead members of the European Accounting team and work closely with the Global Accounting and Finance teams to execute a timely and accurate monthly close and support US GAAP and local accounting standards. 
It is a hybrid role in the Breukelen office (the Netherlands).
Your tasks will include:

• Leading a strong month-end close process, including (but not limited to): 
  applying multi-element revenue recognition under US GAAP and IFRS, reviewing Work in Progress (WIP) positions, accounting for foreign currency transactions and translations, reviewing intercompany recharges, preparing account reconciliations for your assigned areas in accordance with US SOX requirements. Reconciliations should be of high quality, timely, and easily understood,
• Accounting compliance with both US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards  
• Preparation of annual reports to the Chamber of Commerce or other regulatory bodies in Europe.  
• Reviewing and reconciling VAT returns. 
• Reviewing daily activities such as invoices, payment proposal, bank transactions, etc.  
• Leading Payroll process, including (but not limited to): 
  working closely with HR and Payroll team in US to ensure we pay our employees timely and accurately, reconciling payroll monthly journals, GL balances with system reports and payments 

To be a good fit for the Senior Accountant role you will have:

• An HBO education (Economic direction) 
• 6+ years of relevant experience in a dynamic international environment 
• Strong experience with both US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards  
• Affinity with IT is required, experience with Oracle is an advantage 
• Good knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables 
• Fluent in English and Dutch languages
• Highly collaborative communication style and proactive 
• Excellent organizational skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail 
• Strong experience in reviewing journal entries for completeness and accuracy in accordance with policy 

Keys to success:
