The Mission

We are rewriting the script on traditional corporate accounting. We don’t just want someone to close the books; we want a tech-forward financial mind who views artificial intelligence as their ultimate co-pilot.

If you are obsessed with efficiency, love prompt engineering as much as pivot tables, and want to own both core general ledger accounting and critical tax functions, you’re in the right place.

What You’ll Do (Accounting, Tax, & AI Scope)

1. Tax Oversight & Provision Management

• Provision Support: Partner with our third-party professional services firm to facilitate the annual tax provision and independently review quarterly provisions to ensure accuracy.

• Account Reconciliation: Sync all tax accounts on the general ledger with corporate tax provisions. Perform deep-dive analyses to clearly explain tax account movements to leadership.

• Estimated Payments: Calculate and manage federal and state estimated tax payments to optimize cash flow and ensure compliance.

• Indirect Tax: Act as the internal administrator for Avalara sales tax software and perform comprehensive quarterly sales tax reconciliations.

• Notice Management: Take the lead on researching and resolving tax notices from state, city, and overseas authorities. Manage online portals for all subsidiaries to move our tax function from reactive to proactive.

2. Core Accounting & AI Automation

• Month-End Close: Assist with month-end close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis as needed.

• The AI Edge: Utilize LLMs (like Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude) to draft financial narratives, analyze variances, automate data categorization, and write script macros to optimize everyday workflows.

• Process Evolution: Continually research, test, and integrate new AI-native accounting and tax tools to automate manual, repetitive tasks.

What We’re Looking For

• Accounting & Tax Foundations: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Professional Experience: 3–5 years of solid tax / accounting experience

• The AI Mindset: Proven curiosity and hands-on experience leveraging AI tools (prompt engineering, LLMs) to accelerate tax research, streamline operational workflows, and enhance efficiency.

• Analytical Rigor & Communication: A sharp eye for detail capable of spotting data anomalies that machines miss. Strong communication skills to translate complex tax and financial data into clear explanations for the broader leadership team.
