The Senior Accountant communicates directly with clients, supports prospect discovery meetings, documents business requirements, and helps translate requirements to the appropriate level of service. They should be organized, analytical, and capable of working remotely and independently or as part of a team, adept at meeting deadlines, skilled in managing multiple priorities, and able to clearly communicate recommendations and service value to clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Activities - additional tasks within this context may be required.
- Onboard new clients.
- Provide direct accounting services to clients, including guiding management to best practice accounting and reporting processes.
- Assist with training and supporting staff assigned to CAS Tech Start-Ups.
- Support improvements to the processes and technology stack employed to service clients.
- Utilize and leverage AI-driven solutions to automate routine tasks, optimize workflows, and support continuous process improvement.

Qualification stage:
- Participate in qualification calls/meetings with prospects to gather preliminary information.
- Document the prospect profile and fit for our service offering.

Discovery stage:
- Participates in Discovery sessions with prospects and supports meeting facilitation as needed.
- Document results of the Discovery to gather pertinent information for a proposal.

Solution Architecture stage:
- Match requirements uncovered in Discovery stage with Sensiba solutions.

Proposal:
- Support development of services proposals and participate in proposal presentations to prospects.

Contracts:
- Support drafting services Statements of Work.
- Identify and communicate potential additional business opportunities for prospects and existing clients.
- Maintain high client satisfaction ratings that meet firm standards.
- Provide assistance to internal team members as needed.
- Ability to break down complex information into easy-to-understand solution requirements.
- Provide timely status reports/updates on work assignments to performance manager and project leadership as required.
- Achieve utilization targets and track work time accurately within our time tracking system.
- Assist with training, developing, and mentoring assigned staff as needed.
- Special projects as needed
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with successful experience in professional services or a corporate accounting environment. The candidate must have strong internal and external client-facing skills and experience following a process-based methodology while working directly with clients through key phases of the project delivery lifecycle. The candidate should thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced atmosphere that is much like a start-up environment, with a rapidly expanding client base. Additional qualifications the ideal candidate will have are shown below:
- Bachelor's degree required (in accounting or finance preferred).
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years’ relevant experience in professional services and/or corporate equivalent.
- Experience with Quickbooks, Xero and similar is preferred.
- Sage Intacct, Netsuite and contract management software a plus.
- Knowledge of financial accounting and accounting principles, especially SaaS revenue recognition (CPA or similar is a plus).
- Adept at solving complex problems in a timely fashion while keeping all parties informed.
- Strong desire and ability to stay current on technical or industry developments.
- Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
- Strong desire and ability to engage with client management to help solve problems and deliver solutions.
- Team player with solid communication and presentation/product demonstration skills.
- Communicate, be accountable and be kind.
Compensation & Benefits
This role offers a competitive base salary along with a comprehensive benefits package. Salary ranges for U.S.-based positions are determined by geographic location and fall into one of three pay zones, which reflect the cost of labor in that area. The anticipated salary ranges for this position are outlined below and are subject to change:
- US Payzone 1: $92,800 - $116,000
- US Payzone 2: $84,000 - $105,000
- US Payzone 3: $76,000 - $95,000
