The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing accounting operations, maintaining ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, Danaher accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and delivering insightful financial analysis to drive business decisions. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger accounting knowledge, experience in a public company environment, and proficiency with Oracle ERP systems.
This position reports to the Assistant Controller and is part of the Finance and Accounting team located in San Jose, CA and will be an on-siterole.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile monthly general ledger balances for assigned balance sheet accounts, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Own U.S. balance sheet flux analysis and maintain key working capital data points. Analyze financial results and provide detailed variance explanations for balance sheet accounts to management.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and internal control enhancements;
- Lead cross‑functional initiatives and accounting projects to successful implementation.
- Participate in Kaizen events as a finance representative, contributing to process improvement and problem‑solving efforts; complete assigned action items within established timelines.
The essential requirements of the role include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 5+ years of experience OR Master's degree in Accounting with 3+ years of experience OR Doctoral degree in Accounting with 0+ years experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial accounting standards with experience working in a public company environment.
- Proficiency with Oracle ERP systems, reporting tools, and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), ideally with experience in a Big 4 or large regional accounting firm.
- Experience with financial systems implementations or process automation initiatives.
- Experience in the life sciences industry, particularly within a manufacturing environment.

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $130,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
