We’re searching for a Senior Accountant II to join the Corporate Accounting team.
In this role, you will
- Take ownership of complex accounting processes timely, accurately, and efficiently, including the recording of journal entries and preparation of account reconciliations.
- Perform first-level reviews of journal entries and account reconciliations for lower-risk areas prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and proper GAAP adherence
- Assist with the analysis of financial statements and variance analysis for month-end close.
- Support quarterly reviews and annual audits, serving as a point of contact for external auditors.
- Perform key SOX controls, maintain process documentation, and identify opportunities for risk mitigation.
- Spearhead process improvement and automation initiatives, evaluating and implementing AI solutions to scale financial operations alongside the organization’s rapid growth and growing datasets.
- Partner with the Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting team to research, document, and form opinions on accounting topics.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A and operational business partners to ensure financial impacts are accurately captured
- Coach and mentor members of the Accounting team.
- Assist with ad hoc requests and special projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 6+ years of relevant work experience, public company audit experience preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP; expertise in leases is preferred
- Strong understanding of financial and operational controls
- Experience using NetSuite, is preferred
- Strong presentation, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated history of driving process improvement and solving complex operational or accounting challenges
- Attention to detail resulting in consistent, reliable, and accurate work product
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment
Desirable Qualifications
- CPA (or international equivalent)
The base salary range for this position is $104,000 - $166,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
