Job Description
Summary
Join a mission driven healthcare and human services organization where you will play a key role in revenue recognition, regulatory reporting, financial analysis, and reimbursement oversight across complex funding streams. This role is ideal for a detail driven accounting professional who thrives in fast paced healthcare or nonprofit environments and enjoys improving financial accuracy, compliance, and operational performance.
What You’ll Do
  • Manage monthly revenue recognition and reconciliation processes.
  • Analyze Medicaid, Medicare, grant, insurance, and contract revenue activity.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and month end close schedules.
  • Reconcile billing systems to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor deferred revenue, accruals, contractual adjustments, and allowances.
  • Prepare regulatory, grant, and funder reporting submissions.
  • Support audits, cost reports, compliance reviews, and financial reporting.
  • Track receivables, denials, cash collections, and aging trends.
  • Partner with operational and revenue cycle teams to resolve reporting issues.
  • Support process improvements, internal controls, and accounting workflow optimization.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and Board reporting support.
 
What You’ll Need
  • 5 plus years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong experience with revenue recognition, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, grants, or third party reimbursement environments.
  • Experience preparing regulatory, funder, or reimbursement reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition standards.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems experience required.
  • Experience supporting audits and compliance reviews.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
 
What Would Be a Plus
  • CPA certification.
  • Behavioral health, nonprofit healthcare, or human services industry experience.
  • Experience with EHR or healthcare billing systems.
  • Experience with single audits or cost reports.
