What We Need

Corpay is seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant Contractor within our Accounting and Finance division.  This position falls under our Global Shared Services line of business.  As a key member of the finance and accounting team, the successful candidate will lead responsibilities of the company's Global Shared Services Accounting Department and manage close responsibilities with our global subsidiaries as well as work on key initiatives relating to critical processes.  The ideal candidate should be motivated, a self-starter, detailed-oriented, strong in accounting concepts, have a willingness to learn and be a team player.  You will report directly to the VP Assistance Corporate Controller and regularly collaborate with the team and other departments.

Role Responsibilities The responsibilities of the role will include:

Coordinating month-end close activities, including timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, inter-company elimination and balancing processes, expense accruals, prepaid amortization, lease accounting, fixed assets and account reconciliations Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close in accordance with GAAP, company policies and controls Reviewing monthly and quarterly reporting analysis and other management reporting as assigned Leading team members, projects and certain functions managed by the Controller’s Department Providing thought leadership, continually evaluating and optimizing month-end close processes to deliver process automation and improved accuracy Developing/enhancing, implementing and enforcing accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures that will improve the overall operation and reduce risks of the business. Supporting with internal and external auditors to ensure a clean and timely year end audit Collaborating and partnering with cross functionally with global departments on resolving month-end close activities and while working on strategic initiatives Participating in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelors degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2+ years of experience. Effective communicator and excellent interpersonal skills Solid organizational skills Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and self-motivated Ability to coordinate and work with business leaders in multiple locations Ability to meet deadlines timely accurately in a high pace environment Must be a hands-on, detail-oriented individual with ability to problem solve The right person will be ambitious and flexible who wants to learn and grow professionally Excellent Excel skills and willingness to learn new technical applications
