A little about our Corporate Services Division
The Corporate Services division includes the functions of finance, information technology, human resources, and facilities. The Finance department is responsible for day-to-day transactional accounting for the organization as well as reporting to all funders and the Board of Directors. This includes but is not limited to: controlling expenditures and obligations (inclulding operating expenses, debt, and payroll), receipting and depositing all revenues, accounting for the investment of all monies and for all assets and capital project expenditures, internal and external reporting and management of the organization's cash flow.

As a Senior Accountant, you will...
- Work closely with the Director, Corporate Services to manage Finance functions and support day-to-day, monthly, and yearly accounting and financial reporting
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions and ensure integrity of all postings, resolving escalated issues with clients, vendors, and funders
- Monitor cash flow and support efficient management of financial resources, including implementing processes, internal controls, and enforcing policies and procedures in line with GAAP
- Complete monthly closings, reconciliations, and preparation of financial reports (e.g., budget vs. actuals, forecasts, general ledger details) for Managers, Directors, and Board of Directors
- Analyze budget variances and balance sheet accounts and provide financial information to support organizational decision-making
- Support program budget monitoring and forecasting and assist with stakeholder and funder reporting
- Track funding and ensure compliance with funding agreements and legislative requirements, assist with EHT, HST, tax filings and tax receipts
- Support year-end processes, financial statements, working papers, and the external audit including preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
- Review other finance team members work, provide guidance and training, support daily workflow and foster teamwork and continuous improvement
- Contribute to system implementations and operational improvements and provide backup coverage for finance staff, including the Director
You will be set up for success if you have...
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field
- CPA accounting designation or working towards
- A minimum of 5 years of not-for-profit accounting and finance experience
- In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), concepts, and best practices
- Proficiency in financial software and systems, including ERP systems and financial reporting tools, experience with Sage is an asset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, initiative, and a high degree of confidentiality
