Job Description
Senior Accountant
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee the full accounting function for a fast-paced automotive dealership environment. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting expertise, experience managing multiple accounting processes, and proficiency with dealership management systems, specifically Tekion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle accounting process including:
- General Ledger (GL)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Payroll processing
- Bank reconciliations
- Financial reporting
- Month-end and year-end close
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Coordinate payroll activities ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Monitor cash flow, expenses, and dealership financial performance.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.
- Collaborate with dealership management to support operational and financial goals.
- Maintain and optimize accounting processes within the Tekion dealership management system.
- Support internal controls and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the automotive dealership industry.
- Hands-on experience managing the full accounting cycle.
- Required experience with Tekion software.
- Fully bilingual (English and Spanish), both written and verbal.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive dealership accounting.
- Supervisory or leadership experience is a plus.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
