A Day in the Life
The Audit Senior is responsible for the performance of attest engagements, including agreed-upon procedures, compilations, reviews, audits, and other complex accounting projects. The Audit Senior works under the supervision of managers or shareholders and may assist with preliminary planning or limited supervisory duties as they gain experience toward management responsibilities. Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Assess risk areas and design audit procedures to address significant risks.
- Perform advanced audit testing and analytical procedures on complex account areas.
- Preparation and execution of audit fieldwork under the supervision of managers and shareholders.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients to coordinate audit activities and resolve issues.
- Delegate, supervise and review more complex audit or accounting functions, and take responsibility for quality control issues.
- Preparation of client financial statements, including footnote disclosures.
- Mentor and train staff and interns on audit procedures and standards.
- Attend training and stay informed on current accounting, auditing, and regulatory developments (e.g., GAAS, GAAP, Uniform Guidance).
- Use expertise to serve on JCCS committees and lead JCCS teams.
- Establish marketing activities that bring in their own clients and participate in promoting new firm services.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of information related to client, staff, and firm’s internal operations during and after employment with JCCS.
- Performs other duties, responsibilities and activities as assigned.

To Qualify:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university.
- Licensed CPA by the Montana State Board of Public Accountants
- 3+ years' experience in public or private accounting.
