- Prepares and enters monthly journal entries.
- Maintains and reconciles various ledger accounts including assets, liabilities, and capital accounts.
- Has a leading role in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes.
- Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements.
- Analyzes financial data and produce financial reports for management review.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and follow up to clear reconciling items.
- Researches and corrects account discrepancies.
- Assists in the preparation of local, state, and federal tax returns.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyzes budget variances and provide feedback to management.
- Collaborates with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations for the annual audit.
- Assists with internal audits and ensure implementation of recommended improvements.
- Participates in special financial projects as required.
- Recommends improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
- Stays updated with industry trends and the latest best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Operates with the highest level of conduct, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Ensures compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures.
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations, including accrual-based accounting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports and financial management.
- Ability to perform filing and record-keeping tasks.

- Masters degree in Accounting preferred
- Minimum three years of experience as staff accountant and reconciling bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
