Senior Accountant

Job Description

A client of ours is hiring for a Senior Accountant in Atlanta, GA. This role offers the chance to work across the Finance function for a well-established corporate and construction organization, supporting both the Corporate office and Operations, including Joint Ventures. The Senior Accountant will provide GAAP-compliant accounting support, reporting to the Corporate Controller, while partnering closely with Operations Management and Ownership. This is a great fit for a self-starter who's motivated to implement best practices and drive automation and efficiencies. It's an excellent opportunity for someone with a construction accounting background who enjoys variety and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Record journal entries for monthly accounting activity and perform balance sheet account reconciliations
• Review the general ledger for accuracy and perform variance analyses
• Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, and benchmarks
• Assist with audit fieldwork, including interim and final, and support ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a four-year accredited college or university
• 5+ years of experience in a corporate and/or construction accounting environment
• CPA certification or in progress strongly preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; construction background and CMIC ERP experience preferred
