Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team at the Central Dauphin School District as a Secretary II in the Accounting department. This full-time position plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the district by providing administrative assistance, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and facilitating effective communication within the department. Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Accounting department, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and preparing necessary documentation.
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and budget tracking.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and reconciliations to ensure compliance with district policies and procedures.
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and other financial transactions in a timely manner.
- Respond to inquiries from staff, vendors, and the public regarding financial matters, ensuring clear and professional communication.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Support the auditing process by organizing and providing necessary documentation.
- Implement and maintain efficient filing systems for financial records and correspondence.
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate smooth financial operations across the district.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in accounting and finance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting or administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Familiarity with school district financial policies and procedures is a plus.
