Position: Secretary/Accountant f (S348)

Salary Range: Service_Salary_Schedule_2024_Annual.pdf (core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com) based on experience and education level per Putnam County Board of Education salary schedule plus a competitive benefits package to include: PEIA insurance, retirement, life insurance, and free vision and dental insurance.

Job Description:  The Secretary/Accountant for Automated Calling System/Personnel is assigned to monitor substitute needs through the automated calling system and provide support to the Personnel Department.

Qualifications:            Holds a high school diploma or GED.

Holds  “Secretary” and “Accountant” classifications.

                                    Has knowledge and skills necessary to operate a personal computer.

Length of Employment:   261 Days

Responsibilities:          The Secretary/Accountant shall have the following responsibilities and duties:

  1. To monitor substitute needs through the automated calling system and call substitutes, if necessary.
  2. To provide assistance with the automated calling system to employees and school contact personnel.
  3. To create and maintain the seniority list for each classification of substitute service personnel.
  4. To prepare certificates and letters to service candidates regarding test results.
  5. To prepare notices to substitute service personnel who have not accepted work 50% of the time requested.
  6. To create and maintain personnel files on prospective employees.
  7. To purge expired personnel files on prospective employees.
  8. To schedule interviews for prospective professional and service substitutes.
  9. To scan permanent records of graduating high school students.
  10. To retrieve students’ scanned permanent records as requested.
  11. To scan records of employees who are no longer employed with the school system.
  12. To retrieve scanned records of departed employees as requested.
  13. To assist with typing and filing as requested.
  14. To assist with the switchboard as assigned.
  15. To perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel and/or Superintendent.

Daily Schedule:  Currently – 5:00 am - 1:00 pm

Effective Employment Date: September 1, 2026
