Job Summary
The Financial Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing resort operations by analyzing labor productivity, financial performance, and operational efficiency. This position provides data-driven insights to support decision-making, enhance profitability, and ensure optimal resource allocation. The analyst works closely with department heads to implement performance improvement strategies and monitor key operational metrics.
Operate on-site at Massanutten Resort
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
3+ years of experience in financial analysis, or a similar role (preferably in the hospitality or resort industry)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools
Knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) or other programming language
Familiarity in querying databases to build
Preferred
Experience with NetSuite and hospitality software (PMS, POS, workforce management systems)
Knowledge of industry benchmarks and key performance indicators
Background in revenue management or operational efficiency projects

Compensation
Salary Range: $47,000 - $62,000
Core Responsibilities
- Monitor labor costs, staffing levels, and productivity metrics across resort departments
- Develop workforce planning models to optimize labor efficiency while maintaining service quality
- Analyze payroll reports, overtime trends, and scheduling effectiveness
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and cross-training to enhance productivity
- Assist department managers in aligning labor allocation with guest demand forecasts
- Analyze revenue streams, operating expenses, and profit margins to assess financial health.
- Conduct variance analysis on budget vs. actual financial performance.
- Assist departments in ROI models and business case development for capital investments
- Track and report on key financial KPIs, such as RevPor, TrevPor, and cost per occupied room.
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Evaluate departmental performance using key operational benchmarks and industry standards.
- Conduct competitive and market analysis to identify growth opportunities.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate performance insights.
- Use data visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.) to present findings to senior leadership.
- Provide real-time reporting on operational metrics to support business decisions.
