Welcome to INNIO!Role Summary:As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for translating demands into purchase orders to ensure timely availability of materials while optimizing inventory levels. This role serves as a liaison between production, logistics, and planning teams to align material flow with business needs. You will also play a role in supplier coordination, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of procurement planning processes. Essential Responsibilities:- Convert demand into purchase orders to ensure material availability in alignment with production schedules and inventory targets.
- Monitor supplier performance and capacity to proactively identify and mitigate risks to material supply.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to define procurement strategies, including economic order quantities, lead times, and reorder points.
- Act as a point of contact between planning, production, logistics, and suppliers to prioritize material flow based on changing requirements.
- Support new product introductions, phase-ins/phase-outs, and engineering changes by ensuring timely procurement of required components.
- Analyze inventory levels and usage trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved procurement efficiency.
- Partner with schedulers and production teams to resolve material shortages and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to improve procurement planning processes, tools, and KPIs.
- Contribute to make/buy decisions using full-cost models and strategic sourcing input.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Operations, or a related field and 3+ years of experience in procurement, materials planning, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of procurement planning principles, supplier management, and inventory control.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with MRP tools is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Compensation: Salary Range: 90K-105K annual
