General Responsibilities
As a Property Accountant, you will handle the day-to-day financial operations and monthly reporting for a dedicated portfolio of housing properties. This isn't just standard corporate accounting - you will navigate the specialized world of housing subsidies, compliance reporting, and regulatory escrows.
Essential Duties
- Full-Cycle Property Accounting: Prepare monthly financial statements, including bank reconciliation, balance sheet review and related reconciliations, income statement, and cash flow analysis for assigned properties.
- Audit, REAC Preparation, & Lender Reporting: Lead the preparation of year-end audit packages and work papers for external CPAs, state housing authorities, HUD REAC financial submissions, as well ensuring compliance for lender / investor reporting.
- Escrow & Reserve Tracking: Monitor and reconcile delinquent and prepaid balances, replacement reserves, residual receipts, and tenant security deposit escrows in strict accordance with HUD and state guidelines.
- Collaboration: Partner with Regional and Property Managers to analyze monthly budget variances and ensure accurate posting of transactions.

Salary Range: $75k - $85k or commensurate with experience.
