Overview:
The Project Accounting Technician assist in the financial and contractual related aspects of project specific jobs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepares monthly invoices and billing statements for clients for multiple companies.
- Researches billing discrepancies with clients and help maintains client aging reports.
- Ensures responsiveness to client requirements and timely completion of milestones.
- Reconciles company credit cards.
- Prepares business expense reports.
- Assists with invoice coding and approvals.
- Pulls job cost reports.
- Works with accounting team to meet fiscal deadlines.
- Generates purchase orders, subcontracts, and work orders for various projects.
- Maintains comprehensive project documentation (Subcontractor Certificates of Insurance, Certified Payrolls, Daily Reports, etc.).
- Assists with project close-outs.
- Makes travel arrangements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
Education and/or Experience:
- Associates Degree in Accounting. Related experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- 2 years relevant experience.
- Experience working with large, multi-subsidiary company preferred.
- Experience with Sage 300 (Timberline) and Timberscan desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- General knowledge of accounting principles
- Organized, with good analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to meet department and company needs
- Exercise high level of independent judgment and direction in preforming job requirements
- Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team
- Proficient in the Microsoft suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Self-motivated and ability to work effectively under moderate supervision.
