Position Summary:The Procurement Specialist role plays a vital role in ensuring effective procurement and sourcing of materials, goods, and services essential for our operations as a US nonprofit defense contractor supporting organizational mission and values. This position contributes to the strategic procurement initiatives, vendor management, and overall project success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:· Collaborate with the Procurement team to execute procurement strategies that ensure cost-efficiency and regulatory compliance.· Assist in the development and implementation of procurement plans aligned with operational goals.· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide support in executing procurement initiatives.· Assist in the establishment and maintenance of strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and vendors.· Monitor and analyze procurement metrics to ensure adherence to performance targets.· Contribute to the enhancement of procurement processes, focusing on accuracy and efficiency.· Assist in supplier relationship management, ensuring continuity and risk mitigation.· Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to inform sourcing strategies.· Support the Procurement Lead in reviewing negotiation packages in coordination with the contracts team.· Collaborate with peers to ensure seamless execution of procurement activities.· Maintain proficiency in procurement tools and software, including Microsoft Office.Performs other related duties as assigned.
