Procurement Specialist

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the development and execution of projects and strategic initiatives within the Supply Management team. Your goal will be to focus on continuous improvement while also supporting contracting activities as needed. Your success will be demonstrated in your ability to manage strategic initiatives and collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver on commitments.

Your Responsibilities:

• In conjunction with the Supply Management leadership team, work with team members and business stakeholders to develop and deliver projects and strategic initiatives, including those focused on supply chain resiliency, risk mitigation, and value creation
• Proactively identify and manage project dependencies, deadlines, and changes in project scope
• Develop and deliver progress reports, presentations, and all other necessary project communication
• Work with Supply Management category teams, as required, to develop and implement sourcing strategies and manage contract negotiations, execution, and maintenance
• Manage all aspects of work assignments in line with company policies and procedures

Your Skills:  

• Experienced in identifying, leading, influencing, and delivering risk mitigation and continuous improvement initiatives in an organization
• Solid understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management practices
• Ability to understand legal concepts as they pertain to contracting
• Strong organizational and analytical skills to drive results
• Effective communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building abilities
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems
• Strong negotiation and leadership skills
• Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Your Experience:

• University Degree in Business, Law, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field of study
• Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in positions with increasing accountability and responsibility
• Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation would be an asset but is not required
