To serve as an intermediate-level Procurement Specialist within the Contract Research Organization (CRO). This position is suitable for individuals with a bachelor's degree and some experience in procurement, offering increased responsibilities and autonomy as an individual contributor.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Procurement: Independently manage end-to-end procurement processes.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Develop and manage relationships with key vendors.
- Contract Negotiation: Independently negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers.
- Documentation Oversight: Oversee the preparation and maintenance of comprehensive procurement documentation.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other Procurement team members on complex projects.
Qualifications
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Business -OR- related field with 2-4+ years’ experience -OR- Master's Degree -OR- equivalent in Chemistry, Business -OR- related field with 2+ years’ experience -OR- Ph.D. -OR- equivalent in Chemistry, Business -OR- related field with 0+ years’ experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Intermediate understanding of procurement processes and strategic sourcing.
- Proficiency in contract negotiation and vendor management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience within a Contract Research Organization, drug development, mass spectrometry, bioanalysis, or a laboratory setting.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with occasional laboratory exposure
- Essential physical requirements include going up/downstairs, typing, and sitting or standing for long periods.
- Physical effort requirements are moderate (ranging from sedentary to lifting boxes up to 10-15 pounds)
- Occasional long hours and/or weekends during peak production cycles and/or staff absences
- No travel requirements unless attending off-site training.
