Position Summary

The Procurement Specialist supports procurement and purchasing activities for energy generation operations in Puerto Rico. This role assists with sourcing, purchase order management, vendor coordination, procurement documentation, reporting, and closeout activities to ensure the timely and compliant acquisition of goods and services.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with enterprise asset management or procurement systems is required, with Asset Suite experience strongly preferred due to its widespread use in utility and power generation environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the procurement lifecycle from requisition review through purchase order issuance, tracking, receipt, and closeout.
• Review purchase requests for completeness, accuracy, approvals, budget alignment, and compliance with procurement procedures.
• Maintain procurement documentation and upload purchase orders, vendor records, and supporting documents into client systems.
• Assist with vendor sourcing activities, quote requests, bid evaluations, supplier communications, and follow-up efforts.
• Coordinate with project teams, operations personnel, vendors, and finance staff to resolve procurement issues, delays, discrepancies, and receiving concerns.
• Prepare procurement reports, status updates, spend tracking reports, and procurement metrics for management review.
• Maintain procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, internal controls, and applicable procurement guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance, Engineering Management, or a related field.
• Candidates with equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

• 1 to 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, contracts administration, inventory management, materials management, or a related field.
• Strong internship, co-op, academic project, or professional experience may be considered for entry-level candidates.
• Experience using Asset Suite or similar Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or procurement systems.
• Experience supporting procurement activities in energy, utilities, industrial operations, construction, engineering, infrastructure, or other asset-intensive environments preferred.

Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience using procurement, purchasing, inventory, or enterprise asset management systems.
• Ability to maintain procurement records, tracking logs, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Working knowledge of strategic sourcing, vendor management, purchase order administration, contract administration, bid evaluation processes, procurement compliance requirements, materials and inventory management, invoice reconciliation, procurement reporting, analytics, and procurement closeout activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting procurement activities within power generation, renewable energy, utilities, infrastructure, industrial manufacturing, construction, and engineering project environments is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with asset management programs, warehouse and inventory operations, spare parts procurement, maintenance materials management, vendor performance management, and procurement reporting and analytics
• Understanding of safety, reliability, compliance, and documentation requirements in regulated or mission-critical operating environments.

Language & Work Authorization Requirements

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
• Must be legally authorized to work in Puerto Rico.
• Must reside in Puerto Rico or be available for local hire.

The following certifications are preferred and may be considered an asset based on experience level:

• Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
• Associate Professional in Supply Management (APSM)
• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
• Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
• Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB)
• Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO)
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt
• Microsoft Excel, Business Analytics, or Procurement Analytics certifications

Working Conditions

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• On-site position located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.
• Occasional evening, weekend, or extended-hours work may be required based on operational or project needs.
