Brief Job Summary:
The Procurement manager is responsible for sourcing and purchasing food products. The buyer works closely with vendors, suppliers, and other internal departments to ensure that products are sourced and delivered according to the Company’s needs and specifications.
Job Functions:
- Source and purchase food products for the Company, ensuring that the products meet quality and cost requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing agreements as needed.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for food products in line with the Company’s goals and objectives.
- Monitory market trends and industry developments to identify new product opportunities and suppliers.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts and pricing agreements as needed.
- Work closely with the Company’s operations, production, and logistics department to ensure that products are delivered according to schedule and meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and marketing to ensure that product offerings align with company goals and objectives
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust purchasing strategies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve purchasing processes.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities, including pricing, contracts and vendor information.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in buyer and/or procurement or related field.
- Strong knowledge of food products and the food industry
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft excel, SAP a plus.
