Procurement Buyer

JOB SUMMARY: The Procurement Buyer is responsible for procuring the highest-quality products and services at the most competitive prices, creating and maintaining positive relationships with our global suppliers, attaining on-time deliveries, and ensuring that the proper inventory levels are always kept.

You will be directly involved in:

• Purchased components the company uses to support sales
• Services for use by our company

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Procurement/Buyer, you'll need to:

• Work with the Purchasing Manager, and utilize the ERP system to determine demand for raw materials, manage supplier relationships, lead negotiations, track quality, price, and delivery metrics
• Ensure orders are delivered timely for production and shipping
• Document all materials quality, received from our partners
• Review inventory accuracy and maximize inventory turns
• Ensure that inventory is available to meet performance goals
• Manage inventory levels using the ERP system and Excel spreadsheets
• Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments, and customers as needed
• Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
• Work with accounting to ensure payments are processed
• Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded
• Evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors
• Ensure suppliers are aware of our business objectives
• Improve lead times
• Assist with processing rush orders
• Dynamic, consistent review of safety stock

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role is primarily office-based. The position requires extended periods of sitting, using a computer and phone.
