Purpose
The Procurement & Inventory Specialist is responsible for procuring, receiving, tracking, and managing aircraft parts, materials, consumables, and inventory required to support aircraft completions, maintenance, refurbishment, and modification programs. This role combines purchasing, inventory control, warehouse coordination, and material planning responsibilities to ensure materials are available when needed while maintaining inventory accuracy and regulatory compliance. The Aircraft Materials Specialist works closely with production, planning, maintenance, and suppliers to support operational efficiency and aircraft delivery schedules.
Essential Job Functions
- Source, purchase, and expedite aircraft parts, materials, tooling, and consumables to support operational requirements.
- Generate and manage purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procurement procedures.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve shortages, delays, or quality issues.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation activities.
- Receive, inspect, verify, and process incoming aircraft parts and materials in accordance with company and FAA requirements.
- Ensure proper traceability and documentation of aircraft parts, certifications, and associated records.
- Issue materials to production, maintenance, and operational departments while maintaining accurate inventory transactions.
- Monitor inventory levels and recommend replenishment actions to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Drive company vehicles to pick up and deliver aircraft parts, materials, and supplies from local vendors, freight carriers, and suppliers as required.
- Support aircraft-on-ground (AOG) and urgent material requirements with expedited procurement and delivery efforts.
- Maintain accurate records within ERP, inventory management, and purchasing systems.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, receiving issues, and material shortages.
- Support material forecasting and planning activities to align inventory with production schedules and program requirements.
- Participate in supplier performance monitoring and vendor relationship management activities.
- Ensure warehouse, stockroom, and storage areas remain organized, secure, and compliant with company procedures.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and inventory support.
- Collaborate with production, planning, quality, and finance teams to support efficient material flow and operational performance.
Minimum Qualifications or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical training preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, materials management, warehouse operations, or supply chain functions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience with ERP, MRP, or inventory management systems.
- Strong understanding of purchasing processes, inventory control, and material management practices.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications or Experience
- Experience in aviation, aerospace, aircraft completions, MRO, or manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of aircraft parts, FAA traceability requirements, and aviation documentation standards.
- Experience with cycle counting, inventory audits, and warehouse management systems.
- Familiarity with procurement best practices, vendor management, and supply chain operations.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Corridor, Quantum, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Travel
Local travel may be required to support supplier visits, material pickups, and operational needs. Overnight travel is not typically required.
