Rainy River
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River mine is an open pit and underground, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River mine, located adjacent to the Ontario/Minnesota border is 65 kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario  The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.

Applicants who reside in Northwestern Ontario and have experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the Northwest Ontario, are assets. About The Role

Schedule: 4 day in / 3 days off - 10 hours per day.

Location: Rainy River, located 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario. This is an onsite role. Camp & Travel Available (within a 350kms radius of the mine site) or Relocation Available.

Position Reports To: Supply Chain Superintendent 

Position Overview

The Procurements & Contracts Supervisor is responsible for the Procurement team and overall Procurement at New Gold working with senior Management. This position is responsible for leading a team of buyers and leading procurement activities, procurement plans, KPI’s and procurement execution with both internal and external stakeholders.  This position is responsible to ensure business performance and operational efficiency while managing supply risk and controlling costs.

This position is responsible for supervisory functions of the buyer team engaged in the procurement of goods and supplies and contract negotiation, with vendors and suppliers, to ensure products and services are available to the Operation in a timely manner, while managing costs. Will also participate in the management of contractors involved in the Rainy River mine site. Responsible to manage the Purchasing operating budget. Ensure IBA business commitments are achieved through the purchasing and contracting activities.  The Procurement Supervisor will ensure that all procurement and contracting activities are done ethically and transparently.
