Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the Procurement Agent is responsible for sourcing the materials needed for production by developing supplier relationships and collaborating with both the procurement and production teams.

Job Responsibilities

Analyze purchase suggestions and issue purchase orders for raw materials, subcontracted work, and plant supplies;

Follow up on purchase orders, obtain confirmations, and ensure on-time delivery;

Maintain optimal stock levels based on the plant’s production needs;

Recommend and maintain min-max adjustments in the system;

Collaborate with the team to reduce backorders;

Ensure purchase prices comply with existing contracts and keep price lists up to date;

Communicate any supply issues (availability, delays, quality concerns) to the team and propose solutions;

Create new parts in the ERP system (Epicor);

Manage supplier returns;

Support weekly inventory audit processes as needed;

Actively participate in process improvements related to their area of work;

Participate in supplier negotiations for the materials under their responsibility.

Education and Experience Required

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a purchasing role;

Relevant training in procurement.

Key Competencies Required

Proficiency in French and English (spoken and written);

Comfort with computer systems;

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
