Position Specific Description

Regulatory Risk and Strategy Office

To support NextEra Energy’s Regulatory Risk and Strategy Office (“RRS”) through the identification, analysis, and enablement of ISO/RTO and state/provincial regulatory requirements and market rules. This role monitors new and emerging regulatory developments, supports the evaluation of their applicability to company operations, and assists in coordinating internal alignment on regulatory interpretations to ensure regulatory obligations are clearly understood across Business Units

Decision Making

Responsible for evaluating new and emerging regulatory requirements and assessing their applicability and potential impact on company operations. This includes determining when regulatory developments warrant further analysis, internal coordination, or escalation to leadership. The role must balance regulatory interpretation with operational considerations when advising Business Units and Leadership.

Communications & Organizational Requirements

Responsible for maintaining regular communication with Leadership and relevant stakeholders regarding emerging regulatory developments and potential impacts. The role requires coordination with business units and other internal stakeholders to ensure consistent understanding of regulatory requirements and alignment on compliance expectations. The position must be able to synthesize complex regulatory information into clear and actionable internal communications.

Job Overview

Employees in this role serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for ongoing day-to-day duties related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), International Business Parties (IBPs), the compliance hotline, and other compliance and ethics activities.
