The opportunity
The Principal FP&A will report to the Group Manager Finance – Corporate and Reporting and play a pivotal role within the FP&A Corporate team.
This position provides financial analysis and supports planning and investment decisions across the Company so that the value of every decision is clear, well informed, and delivers appropriate long-term risk-adjusted returns for shareholders and stakeholders.
The focus of this role is maintaining and evolving the sophisticated financial models that drive critical business decisions. Through rigorous framing, modelling, and evaluation, you will deliver data-driven insights and informed recommendations to guide senior leadership on key decisions. Your ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize effectively, communicate with clarity, and adapt to change will be essential.
This is a permanent full time role (Monday to Friday) based at our Corporate Head office in Perth.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate scenarios/plans and decisions, clearly articulating the risk-reward proposition.
- Deliver ad-hoc analysis (including Sensitivity analysis) across a range of macro-economic and operational factors to support annual plans, forecasting and long-term strategic planning.
- Continuously improve models, in line with financial modelling best practices.
- Develop understanding of key value drivers and flow of information across the value chain
- Develop relationships with internal stakeholders to extract subject matter expertise in a collaborate manner
- Apply intelligence on industry trends and market dynamics to inform analysis.
- Prepare presentations and Board materials that communicate complex analysis with clarity and impact.
- Present finding using storytelling to connect, engage and influence stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of ASX market announcements.
About you
- Tertiary qualified from a diverse background including consulting, investment banking corporate finance or engineering.
- Mining industry experience and exposure to ASX-listed or international listed company environments are preferred
- Proven discounted cash flow financial modelling and valuation experience
- Strong financial modelling and data analysis skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work with subject matter experts and distil technical and financial information to create easy to understand financial models to drive data insights.
- Skilled at translating financial data into written analysis, clearly articulating associated risks, opportunities, and key performance indicators.
