About the Role
Are you a financial expert passionate about driving cost accuracy, analytics, and financial performance? Join our team as a Principal Cost Accountant and take end-to-end ownership of costing, analytics, and financial validation processes for our Juncos manufacturing site.What You Will Do!
-Lead costing, analytics, and financial validation processes for a complex manufacturing environment.
-Partner with Operations and Value Stream leaders to deliver key financial insights and support savings commitments.
-Drive accurate and timely financial reporting and cost control while ensuring compliance.
-Play a critical role in enabling our transition to a value stream-aligned finance model as part of the MiniMed separation.
-Ensure data integrity and reporting excellence across systems and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned
- Allocates costs, collects data, and prepares reports to support and maintain the company’s cost accounting system.
- Ensuring costs are accurately allocated in accordance with established procedures and internal controls.
- Leads and is accountable for the Juncos annual cost roll, ensuring accurate standard cost updates and alignment with financial planning cycles (AOP – Annual Operating Plan and OPC – Other Product Cost / Actuals).
- Performs Material Usage Variance (MUV) analysis and provides clear root cause insights and recommendations.
- Leads cost analysis by product and value stream, providing financial visibility to support Value Stream leaders and operational decision-making.
- Analyzing cost drivers including labor, burden, material, and scrap, identifying risks and opportunities for cost improvement.
- Prepares and presents financial bridges (OPC vs. actuals) to explain key variances and highlight major gaps versus plan.
- Provides guidance and visibility to stakeholders on significant cost variances, risks, and savings opportunities.
- Reviews and leverages historical cost data (materials, labor, burden, and operating expenses) to support cost analysis, financial planning, and variance explanations.
- Supports pricing and new product costing by developing unit costs and projecting expenses.
- Prepares reports comparing budgets/forecasts to actual results and supports profitability analysis.
- Recommends and supports improvements to costing processes, systems, and data integrity.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with standard costing, cost roll processes, and variance analysis (including MUV).
- Demonstrated ability to support financial planning cycles (AOP – Annual Operating Plan, OPC – Other Product Cost / Actuals).
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Supply Chain) and influence decision-making.
- Solid understanding of internal controls, financial compliance, and data integrity principles.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to present financial information to various levels of the organization.
Nice to Have
- CPA or other relevant professional certification (e.g., CMA) is a plus.
- Experience with SAP and reporting tools/applications (e.g., financial reporting or data visualization tools).
- Exposure to master data management and data governance within financial systems.
- Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset, with interest in driving process enhancements and efficiencies.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities and business needs.
