About the Role
This role serves as the financial leader for a manufacturing facility, ensuring financial oversight and strategic guidance. The position exists to oversee accounting and financial activities, providing insights into operating performance and guiding decisions that enhance profitability. As a key member of the plant leadership team, this role supports both day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting and finance functions, ensuring timely, accurate reporting in compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
- Manage plant P&L reporting, inventory and working capital analysis, and monthly and quarterly forecasting.
- Analyze actual results against forecasts and communicate variances, performance trends, and recommended actions to leadership.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports covering material usage, manufacturing costs, labor, sales, and profitability.
- Perform balance-sheet analysis and reconcile key accounts, including inventory.
- Collaborate with plant leadership, Sales, and Business Unit leaders to support business decisions and improve financial performance.
- Help plant management understand operational factors affecting profitability and strengthen financial knowledge across the leadership team.
- Use profitability tools to evaluate customer performance and support commercial improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and SOX requirements.
- Support training on financial systems and processes to maintain strong standards of controllership.
- Contribute to strategic planning, change initiatives, and continuous improvement.
- Support employee development and demonstrate company values through collaboration and participation in safety initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least seven years of progressive finance experience, primarily in manufacturing.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights and recommendations.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and influence business decisions.
- Strong aptitude for financial systems and reporting tools, including Excel, SAP, HFM, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated accountability, sound judgment, and a focus on results.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, CPA, or CMA.
- Experience partnering with manufacturing leadership to improve costs, profitability, and operational performance.
