Job Overview
This is a specialized position responsible for performing tasks associated with Loudoun County Public School Board payroll policies and regulations. This position will verify employee data and prepare verification of employment documentation. This position will be the primary person to answer the Payroll Divisions telephone inquiries. This is a fast-paced position and this person must have knowledge of payroll procedures to be able to respond to inquiries from employees.
Roles and Responsibilities
The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.
- Responds to all payroll inquires, through telephone, email, & in person communicate for the Transportation Division.
- Verifies accuracy of all new employee data in the Oracle system; distributes paperwork to respective personnel for processing.
- Responds to inquiries regarding timecards, deductions, earnings, leave balances, direct deposits, & payslips.
- Prepares stop/void/reissue payment requests.
- Scans payroll documentation for records retention.
- Assists employees with setting up & viewing their electronic payslips, direct deposits, tax withholding forms, & Form W-2.
- Manages all purchase card transactions & bookkeeping for the Payroll Division.
- Responds to subpoena requests by providing payroll documentation.
- Shreds the division’s confidential payroll documents.
- Manages the mail for the entire division, including sending, receiving, and distributing.
Qualifications

Education
High school graduate or GED required
Experience
Experience in working with automated payroll system; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training to demonstrate the standards, concepts and guidelines to perform the responsibilities of the position
Licenses and Certifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of payroll processing procedures, and standard office practices, procedures, and equipment
- Ability to operate standard office equipment such as photocopiers, scanners, printers, eFax, & personal computer
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in collaborative teamwork
- Strong ability to organize
- Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
