The Payroll Supervisor Role
Provides a central source for the calculation and administration of corporate payroll activities. Ensures that the corporate payroll is calculated and complies with payroll policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines also supports plant payroll. Ensures all payroll related taxes and government requirements are met and in compliance with NSK internal policies. Assists in the financial department on any level, as needed. Ensures internal and external customers are serviced with a high level of quality. Supports upper management and implements new policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and processes biweekly payroll for all employees; reviews and ensures accuracy of approved timesheets; tracks and deducts all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
- Coordinates efforts between payroll, human resources, budget, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
- Tests system updates or tax to ensure adherence to internal policies and payroll principles.
- Establishes and maintains employee records; ensures that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; reviews changes for proper authorization and adherence to company policy including compliance with federal/state/local regulations.
- Handles the settlement of salaries and wages through the accounts structure and prepares periodic payroll reports.
- Organizes interdepartmental billings of additional benefits.
- Prepares tax reports.
Qualifications
- This job requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 4 to 6 years of position-related experience; preferably 6 to 8 years of position-related experience.
