About the Role
This position is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of payroll using UKG and Kronos/WFM time and labor systems. This associate will respond to frequent and urgent requests for information regarding payroll, will be responsible for the administration of payroll, including escheatment and garnishment notifications, maintaining policies and procedures, seeking areas for constant efficiencies and improvements, and supporting the overall processing needs of the payroll department.
Responsibilities
- Process multi-state and multi-company payroll through UKG, including new hire/termination information, associate changes and other data changes
- Respond to questions from associates and managers regarding paychecks, direct deposit, W-2s, and/or general payroll questions
- Run and prepare reports on a regular basis for Payroll and other departments
- Prepare and administer payroll information for imports/exports from Core HR system and time keeping systems into UKG payroll for processing, assist with quality control and record maintenance to ensure accuracy, service quality and data integrity
- Administer audit checks to validate accuracy of payroll (pre check and post checks)
- Administer payroll check escheatment process and garnishment notifications
- Process special requests and off-cycle payroll checks as needed
- Maintain compliance with payroll laws, regulatory withholdings and company policies and procedures
- Participate in special projects as assigned, including projects involving HCM HR and Finance, Benefits systems and payroll audits
- Assist and back up team members as needed
- Support additional projects as assigned by Payroll Manager and/or Director of Payroll
Criteria
- BA/BS degree
- 1-2 years of payroll processing experience preferred, but not required
- Strong administrative skills, including attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational, prioritizing and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong focus to customer service, including the ability to work well with internal and external customers and vendors, as well as a commitment to meeting or exceeding customer expectations
- Advanced excel skills involving but limited to pivot tables, lookups, condition formulas
- Strong sense of business ethics, integrity, confidentiality and accountability
- Must be team-oriented, flexible and support the company’s values
- Strong technical background with UKG payroll system and Kronos timekeeping system, a plus.
